Bloom is a fine art series inspired by Robert Mapplethorpe and Georgia O’Keeffe. In contrast to their works, this series transcends the sensuality often associated with flowers to capture the deeper attributes of both femininity and masculinity that flowers embody. The conscious choice of black and white photography transports the audience back to a time when women had no voice and no rights. The arduous journey women have undertaken, always striving for equality, is a central theme in these images.
Bloom aspires to foster new thinking and broader conversations about the meaning of feminism. Women have often been told they must toughen up and become more masculine to succeed in the real world, while men have been told that sensitivity is a feminine trait and a sign of weakness. This series challenges us to dismantle our current judgments on gender and sexuality, starting from ground zero, and to contemplate flowers without bias.
Invisible to Invincible is an ongoing personal series that redefines accepted perspectives on feminism. This project explores women's individuality, unity, and social roles through a contemporary lens, aiming to expand the conversation where traditional definitions of female empowerment fall short.
Feminism truly begins when a woman can accept herself in her own skin. Rather than striving to meet stereotypical standards of beauty and sensuality, the modern feminism showcased in this series empowers women to create their own beauty through confidence and encouragement from one another. This series is captivating because the women featured are inspiring and support each other in fully coming out of their shells. It’s not about mimicking the cover of a beauty magazine or fitting into societal molds, but about celebrating genuine empowerment and authenticity.
